Position Purpose 
The Learning Content Developer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of learning tools, and training programs that align with P. Terry’s goals, operating principles, and competencies.   This individual will assess training needs, design programs, and identifying new products and vendors to develop effective technologies and content for e-learning modules, instructional materials, virtual training workshops, and other instructional tools that will allow us to grow, and ensure our employees have the knowledge, skills, and training to grow in their role and be successful.
This position is onsite at the P. Terry's Home Office and will require approximately 10% travel.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Senior Manager of Training and Development in completing an LMS RFP. 
  • Design, build, test and support implementation of instructionally sound eLearning and other educational/training resources to recommend the best option for the development of skills and abilities.
  • Design using creative, innovative, and evidence-based approaches; develop storyboards for e-learning and videos.
  • Develop course outlines and all course related documents (scripts) throughout the needs analysis, design, development, and test phases.
  • Provide proactive and thorough support for LMS users by troubleshooting system and user account problems to achieve a 5 Stars learning experience.
  • Upload, test, track, and maintain consistency of eLearning courses, materials, and virtual training workshops. Troubleshoots functionality issues. 
  • Run reports and analyze platform and course-level data to identify and act on usage insights. Run and create customized Excel reports for focal points as needed. 
  • Manage required training certifications and prescriptive rule assignments. 
  • Design in multiple formats, engaging learning activities that aligns with P. Terry’s goals, operating principles, and competencies.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to bring expertise to design, develop and implement courses and other instructional resources.
  • Collaborate with Training Team to manage stakeholders’ requests and expectations to ensure training needs are identified and met, and appropriate delivery methods are determined.
  • Manage visual aspect of training content, testing and assessment updates and maintenance.
  • Establishes, influences, and communicates guidelines and recommendations for process and procedure related to instructional design, content development, and project management.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience[MG1]  supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS) with learning and performance such as SABA, Cornerstone, Absorb, SuccessFactors, D2L, Paylocity, etc.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience developing an eLearning curriculum and providing support of eLearning technologies. 
  • Preferred experience in all project-related life cycle components for analysis, design, development, and implementation of various course delivery methods, including instructor-led training (ILT), job aids, e-learning, virtual, and blended courses.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite, Illustrator, Photo Shop, In Design, PowerPoint, Adobe, video design. 
  • Expertise in media applications and technology.

  •  Ability to communicate effectively and form partnerships with all levels from crewmembers to management.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a home office position and the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to give and receive detailed information through oral communication (frequently required to talk and hear) and have close visual acuity to perform activities such as proofreading, reviewing schedules, training plans, invoices, and product standards. Color vision and acute tactile discrimination skills are required. This position is frequently required to sit and/ or stand for an extended period (7+ hours), look at a computer screen for extended periods of time, facilitate training events for extended periods of time, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate a computer, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. This position is regularly required to lift 10-15 pounds and carry that weight more than 50 feet.

Position Type and Expected Hours

This is a full time, exempt position. Hours vary based on the needs of the department, stand hours of operations and employee shifts.  In area and out-of-area and overnight travel is required. To meet the travel requirements of this job, an employee must have the physical and mental ability to drive or sit in a vehicle for long enough to reach any area with reasonably short breaks. 
Compensation: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
